ABOUT THE EVENT

The 2024 US election is widely perceived to be one of the most pivotal elections in this country’s history. In addition to the sharp political divisions that are impacting voters, corporations and boards face significant challenges on how to respond to potential regulatory, economic and even ethical issues arising out of the election. How should directors be thinking and planning for these issues? What role should corporations play in the election, and how should they address issues raised by customers and employees?

In this roundtable we will consider how directors should be planning for the election in light of the unique risks and pressures that it presents. We will discuss questions being faced by directors and their advisors as they try and plan for the results of an election contest where the outcome is difficult to predict, the future uncertain, the differences are stark and the stakes are high.
